We can help!
Step 1. With all new clients, we begin with an initial consultation to establish your training goals, assess your dog, offer a few preliminary management suggestions, and demonstrate some initial training. In addition to the consultation itself, you also receive a detailed written evaluation sent a few days after the appointment, as well as educational handouts.
Don’t have your puppy yet? No problem! We can help BEFORE you bring your new best friend home! Check out our Puppy Head-Start training.
Step 2. Depending on what’s right for you and your dog, after the initial consult we offer:
Option A: “Day Training”
We come to your home and train your puppy or dog for an hour (3 days) while you are at work or busy around the house. On the 4th day we “transfer” the training cues to you. This service is available to those in Bloomington/Normal only, and includes training for sit, stay, coming when called, go to your mat or crate, walking politely, and other “good manners” skills.
Program length: Available in 3 or 4-week packages (4 sessions per week)
Training sessions: 3 per week (one hour each)
Teaching/Transfer session: 1 per week (one hour each)
Option B: Private “Coaching”
We come to your home and coach you through the steps to change your dog’s behavior. In-between sessions, you and your dog practice the learning games. How many sessions do you need? That depends on the type of the issue, the length of time it has been a problem, and how much time you can devote to practicing with your dog.
All of our training methods are force-free, fear-free, and pain free, and are based in the science of positive reinforcement training and counter conditioning for behavior modification. We will never use (or recommend) any aversive or harmful methods or tool, including NO shock collars (sometimes called e-collars) or prong collars.
Rates: $200 for initial consultation (which lasts about 2 hours) if you live in Bloomington/Normal. If you decide to proceed with additional training after the consult, the cost is $75/hour for follow-up training, or $65/hour for pre-paid packages of 5 sessions or more (a 5 session package is $325). There may be an additional fee for those who live outside Bloomington/Normal, and our travel radius is limited to 30 miles from SE Bloomington.
